Full Moon Silhouettes

I invite you to pause for a moment to view this video by Mark Gee of Wellington, New Zealand

Full Moon Silhouettes is a real time video of the moon rising over the Mount Victoria Lookout in Wellington, New Zealand. People had gathered up there this night to get the best view possible of the moon rising. I captured the video from 2.1km away on the other side of the city. It's something that I've been wanting to photograph for a long time now, and a lot of planning and failed attempts had taken place. Finally, during moon rise on the 28th January 2013, everything fell into place and I got my footage. The video is as it came off the memory card and there has been no manipulation whatsoever. Technically it was quite a challenge to get the final result. I shot it on a Canon ID MkIV in video mode with a Canon EF 500mm f/4L and a Canon 2x extender II, giving me the equivalent focal length of 1300mm. Good Night, Earth

By markrogerbailey

Photographer Knate Myers compiled this amazing time-lapse video from stills captured by crew members on the International Space Station (ISS) and shares it with us on Vimeo.  The perspectives, scale, movement, and color are amazing.

Every frame in this video is a photograph taken by astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). I created this timelapse on a long weekend after discovering the image library online. I used Photoshop and Sony Vegas to edit and compile the footage. The music is a track from one of my favorite sci-fi movies, Sunshine. I thought the music and imagery would fit well together. *** Thank you all for likes, comments, shares and support this video has received. I'm truly glad so many have enjoyed it.*** You can view my other work and see my other projects here: www.facebook.com/kn8photo www.knatephoto.com Music by John Murphy - Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor) Performed by the City Of Prague Philharmonic http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YYX1YG/?tag=you09f-20 Image Courtesy of the Image Science & Analysis Laboratory, NASA Johnson Space Center, The Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov
